4 Things to You Should Do Before This Year Ends

5 Things You Should Do Before This Year Ends | by Anna Rosiak | Ascent Publication

As 2021 is coming to a bitter-sweet end, it’s time for us to stop and reflect on everything that went down this past year. At the start of this year, the entire world was going through some major economic and social crisis, COVID-19 pandemic was still prevalent, the economic conditions of different countries were at an all-time low, depression in individuals increased which gave rise to many other societal problems.
But things started to get better after the COVID-19 vaccines came out and all the countries around the world made efforts to vaccinate their people. The world has re-opened things and is now gradually getting back to normal.
Despite all the challenges and ups and downs faced by all of us, the good thing that came out of it is the fact that we learned a lot this year – what to do when things seem extremely uncertain, how to survive every curveball thrown your way, how to push forward in a difficult situation and, most of all, how to be more empathetic towards others.
Each year teaches you one thing or another so it is important that you continually strive to grow and be a better individual.
In order to grow as a person, there are certain things that you should understand and eventually master to achieve success in the upcoming year. In this article, we have compiled a list of things you should do to grow and cleanse the toxicity of this year out of your soul, body, and mind.

  • Check-in with yourself

While focusing on our careers and taking care of everyone around us, we often forget to check in with ourselves and see how we are doing, exactly? Ask yourself some important questions to fully understand the condition of your mental and physical health. Are you struggling to get out of bed? Do you feel completely overwhelmed? Has your back been hurting lately? Or do your feet ache?
Scan yourself from head to toe and make mental notes. If you notice something wrong, visit a doctor or health expert. If you see yourself stress eating which has led to you gaining weight, get a membership to a nearby gym as well as get to the root of your stress to lead a healthy life.

  • Set some goals

This may seem corny as by the end of every year we are expected to set some goals but it is important to have some goals by the start of every year so that you have a clear perspective on what you are supposed to do and take the necessary steps to achieve your predetermined goals.
You can create a to-do list and list down everything you want to achieve in the upcoming year. You can create this list online as well. Subscribe to Todoist or Clickup to make an online to-do list but make sure you have a reliable internet connection to run such applications smoothly. If you don’t have a reliable internet connection in place, you can call Hughesnet Customer Service Number and choose an internet plan that best fits your needs.

  • Make a scrapbook

It seems old school, right? But creating a scrapbook can be rewarding, soothing and also give a feeling of nostalgia by reminiscing about all the good things that happened this year. Save all the pictures that you took on different occasions and at the end of the year make a scrapbook full of real, physical copies of every moment.

  • Ease off and take a break

In case you have any extra vacation days left at the end of the year, plan a solo vacation if possible to somewhere relaxing. You can also do something entirely for yourself at home as well. Spend your off days meditating, reading books, and catching up on your favorite TV shows.

Wrapping Up
The above-mentioned list suggests a few general things to do before the year ends. But you don’t have to adhere to it completely. You can opt for something that helps you decompress, unwind, and makes you feel whole again.
