Palm oil imports increase 7% during Nov-March; soft oil shipments down

This involved 9.57 lakh tonnes of edible oils and 22,610 tonnes of non-edible oils.

On the other hand, the overall import of vegetable oils stood at 53.75 lakh tonnes through November-March 2020-21 when compared with fifty five.19 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period of time of the previous calendar year.

Important SUPPLIERS

Malaysia was the important supplier of CPO to India. The state imported sixteen.eighty lakh tonnes of CPO from Malaysia through the first 5 months of oil calendar year 2020-21, adopted by Indonesia at twelve.ninety five lakh tonnes.

India imported 11.24 lakh tonnes of crude soybean degummed oil from Argentina, and eight.08 lakh tonnes of crude sunflower oil from Ukraine through the period of time.
